Simple Hairdo for long hair

Curl your strands to add volume and wrap them with a few embellished hair ties for a polished look with lots of style. Hair ties, $24 each, VivandIngrid.com; earrings by Crislu, $50, Amazon.com; gown by David Fielden

Polished Pony
Add a curl to the bottom of your ponytail to make this style feel more special.

The Braided Band
As you braid, add a small amount of hair (10 strands) to the rest of your hair. This will anchor the braid to the head.

How to Get the Look:

Step 1: Start from the bottom and work your way up, curling 2" sections with a 1" iron. Different-sized curls help make the ponytail feel a bit more romantic.

Step 2: Create a part and separate your hair into two equal sections. Twist each of them inward until they meet in the middle of the back of your head.

Step 3: Secure the twists with pins and an elastic band. The hair can fall over your ears or behind them. it just depends on what feels more comfortable.

Step 4: Take a small piece of hair from the bottom of each side of the ponytail and wrap them around the band. tuck it under the ponytail and pin.

Retro Glamour
Though this half-up headband style is up-to-the-minute trendy, it's virtually guaranteed to become a classic. "Your hair texture could be anything from fine to thick, but length is really the only thing necessary for this style," says celebrity stylist Jamal Hammadi. "The key is to know how much and where to pull the hair back away from your face to follow the lines of your cheekbones and face shape." Find a similar headband at ColetteMalouf.com; sterling silver and Swarovski crystal hairpin (worn as an earring), $300 for a set of 5, LoriLondon.com; gown by Le spose di Gio for Mark Ingram.
